Who I am

This website, websitesbywatson.co.uk, is run by Aaron Watson, trading as Websites by Watson (a sole trader). I am the data controller for the personal information collected through it.

Address: 47 Hansby Drive, Liverpool, L24 9LG. Email: hello@websitesbywatson.co.uk. Phone: 07513 721940. Data protection registration: registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is in progress and the registration number will be added here once issued.

What the free demo form collects

When you ask for a free demo, the form asks for your name, your business name, the kind of business it is, roughly where it is, your mobile number, your email address and anything else you want to tell me.

The form also records which button you clicked to reach it, the page you sent it from, the first page you landed on, the site that referred you (if any) and any campaign tags in the web address. This tells me which parts of the site are working. Nothing else about your visit is recorded.

Submissions are stored on the website's own server so that nothing is lost if an email fails. A copy is emailed to me. Your details are used only to get in touch about your demo. They are never added to a mailing list or sold.

What the website records automatically

The site does not use analytics unless you allow it through the cookie banner. No analytics tool is in use at the moment. If you allow analytics, it records how the site is used (pages visited, device type, rough location) and I will name the tool and its cookies in the cookie policy.

The hosting provider, Railway (servers in the United States, San Francisco region), may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. The website itself does not store IP addresses. It uses them in memory only, for a few minutes, to limit how many times a form can be sent.

The site's font is hosted on the website itself, so no request is made to a third-party font service.

Who your information is shared with

Hosting: Railway (servers in the United States, San Francisco region). Email delivery of form notifications: Resend (EU region, Ireland). If analytics is switched on: No analytics tool is in use at the moment.

These providers process information on my behalf and under their own terms. I do not sell personal information or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Transfers outside the UK

Form notifications are sent through Resend, which processes them in the European Union (Ireland), a region the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. The website and the form submissions it stores are hosted by Railway on servers in the United States. That transfer is covered by Railway's data processing agreement, which includes the standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum to them.

If you would rather not have your details stored this way, you can call or WhatsApp me instead of using the form.

How long I keep it

Form submissions: kept for 12 months from the date they are sent, then deleted. If you become a client, the details needed to build and support your website are kept for as long as I work with you and for a reasonable period afterwards for tax and record-keeping purposes.

You can ask me to delete your details at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to limit how it is used, to object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form where the basis is consent or contract. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email hello@websitesbywatson.co.uk or call 07513 721940. I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or call them on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If I add a new tool or change what the site collects, I will update this page and the cookie policy at the same time, and change the date at the top. The terms of use cover everything else about using the site.
