Salon and barber websites: prices, photos and a big booking button

You probably already take bookings through an app. A website doesn't replace it. It sends more people to it. Here is what a salon or barber site needs.

Salon website essentials: prices, photos and a big booking button

Most salons and barbers I speak to already have the hard part sorted. Bookings come in through Fresha, Booksy or Instagram DMs, the diary is full enough, and a website feels like a job for later. So the question is a fair one: what would a salon website even do?

The short answer is that it gets you in front of people who don't follow you yet, and sends them straight to the booking app you already use.

What people want to know before they book

Someone new to the area, or someone who has fallen out with their regular, searches for a barber or a salon nearby. In the next minute they want to know four things:

  • how much a cut, colour or set costs
  • what your work looks like
  • what other people say about you
  • how to book, right now, without ringing

A salon website answers all four on one screen of a phone. Your Instagram answers one of them, and only if they already follow you.

Prices on the page

Put your price list on the site, as text, with the service names you actually use. People who can see "skin fade £18" or "full head highlights from £85" book with confidence. People who can't see a price assume it is more than they want to pay.

If prices vary by stylist, say so and show the range. If you charge for consultations, say that too. Clarity is what gets the booking.

Your work, not stock photos

Your own before-and-afters, your own chair, your own shop. You already take these photos for Instagram, so they exist. A handful on the home page and a gallery page is plenty. Make sure they're compressed so the page loads quickly on mobile data; a slow gallery is worse than a small one.

The booking button

This is the most important thing on a salon website. One big button, visible without scrolling, that opens your Fresha, Booksy or whichever system you use. Not a contact form. Not "DM us". The thing that lets them book in thirty seconds.

If you still take bookings by phone, make the number a tap-to-call link and put WhatsApp next to it.

Reviews and your Google listing

Copy a few of your best Google reviews onto the site, word for word, and link to the rest. Then put your web address on your Google Business Profile, so the map listing and the website send people to each other. Between them, they do the job of a receptionist who never goes home.

A salon website in five pages

Home, prices, gallery, reviews and contact. Five pages built for phones, with your photos, your prices and that big booking button. That is what I build for a one-off £595, with no monthly fees, set up for Google and AI search and linked to your Google listing.

And you see it before you pay. I build the site first, for free, from what's already on your Instagram and Google, and text you the link within a week. Here's how it works, or tell me about your salon.
